The Saturday Boys Band Story
Our Beginning
In the beginning, Josh and PR played in the basement. One day, Josh's friend Darin wrote a script for the Arts-In-Motion production of the Murder Mystery Theater on the Conway Scenic Railroad involving a band. Along with Bob, the nascent group performed an original song as part of the Murder Mystery Show. Instead of disbanding after the show, they continued to play in the basement, mostly for fun.
The early times
In 2022, we started playing Darin's parody songs as part of the Josh and Darin variety show. Songs like "Ode to a Virus" (based on "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin') and "I'm A Bleeder" (Monkees parody) were crowd favorites. Then Pete joined up giving us a true drummer!
Now
With the addition of Pete, we turned more serious and began playing throughout the Mt Washington Valley, including Settler's Green and Schouler Park in North Conway, Tuckerman's Brewing in Conway, and Fryeburg Maine in 2022 and 2023. Most recently, Holly joined in Sept '23 giving us our current sound. We will be at Saco Brewing this summer, as well as Valley Pride day and several other events.
